i added it up- that's $144.31 if my calculations are correct, which means we have a total of $244.31- that's CRAZY. keep up the good work, everyone. i have a few jars of spare change to donate, i'll have to bring them in before school ends.
Yeah, That's a good amount of money that we have collected in a relatively short amount of time. I hope to continue the penny drive into the next school year if possible.
additionally- we had pretty much no publicity for this year, so next year we have to make sure we get it out there. maybe i (or anyone who wants to) could even write a letter to Newsday and ask them to cover it in the papers.
That's a good idea regarding having Newsday possibly cover the penny drive but we need to generate more funds and interest in it or I personally think they won't have much inclination to do a story on it but that's just my view.
Correction: Brittany is NOT our winner...as we said whoever is closest without going over. So sorry, Brittany. Our winner therefore is our honorary member, Dave!

Ginny has done the math correctly! So Brittany was less than $3 shy of the actual amount and is our big winner!!!!
